If you’re looking for something a little more non-traditional, an Airbnb or VRBO might be a perfect fit. Choosing an Airbnb or VRBO wedding venue is a great way to save money and have more flexibility with the time you have the space. This is what we did for our wedding and it was amazing (and it’s my favorite way to have a backyard wedding even if your backyard isn't ideal). We were able to have the space for 6 days and not only did we use it for the ceremony and reception, but it also served as lodging for us and 5 of our friends, and gave us a place to host our out-of-town guests every night that week.
It’s worth noting that I include VRBOs because they’re much more lenient on events. Airbnbs are perfect for super intimate weddings and elopements, but just know that in almost every case your guest list cannot exceed the capacity of the house. And if then, you must get approval from the host – not everyone is comfortable with weddings on property. I use the term “Airbnb wedding” throughout the website because it’s just how people refer to private home rentals these days!
Here are a few Airbnb wedding venues in Texas you might consider (with links so you can check them out!). And if you don’t find what you’re looking for here, be sure to check out our guide on how to find an Airbnb or VRBO wedding venue.
This VRBO wedding venue has full-on resort vibes with a gorgeous pool, manicured lawn and limestone arch; you'll feel like you’re at a fancy resort (for a fraction of the price). And it’s huge, sleeping 33, this would be a great place to host a full wedding weekend. I love this option for a destination wedding that’s still super convenient with its proximity to Austin, even out of town guests could get there easily. The amenities are perfect for hosting a micro wedding.
If a cabin vibe is more your speed for your Airbnb wedding venue, this gem on Lake Lewisville is a great option. Just north of Dallas / Fort Worth, the cabin sits on over an acre about 1,000 feet off Lake Lewisville, features 2 decks, a campfire ring, and charming creek. This is a great way to rent an affordable outdoor wedding venue with tons of opportunities for activities.
Just west of DFW lies this VRBO that sits on 8 acres. What makes this great as a potential Airbnb wedding venue in Texas is the ample outdoor space, including a large covered patio (no tent rental needed!), its proximity to DFW, and its affordability.
This is such a unique property perfect for couples looking for a unique Airbnb elopement venue in Texas. This treehouse in Aubrey could be a great option if you're planning to exchange vows with just the two of you.
A great VRBO wedding venue option in Texas Hill Country! This property has amazing mountain views, a pool and hot tub, fire pit, lawn games, tons of outdoor space and is newly renovated inside with a clean, modern design aesthetic. The Airbnb wedding venue location is convenient being only 30 minutes from Austin and offers a ton of activities nearby.
Another gem in Texas Hill Country. This VRBO wedding venue is for adventurous couples who love a little bit of luxury (if we were married in Texas, this would’ve been my pick for sure). It features an infinity pool overlooking the turquoise waters of Canyon Lake, a chef’s kitchen (perfect for catering or a private chef), high-end furnishings and products and was designed with accessibility in mind so if you have older friends or family joining you can be sure they’ll be comfortable.
With plenty of outdoor activities like hiking, watersports, and mountain biking you could really plan a cool adventurous multi-day wedding event for you and your guests! One of the best things I noticed about this one is the host’s willingness to accommodate guests to make sure you have the best experience possible.
Ok, this Houston property is just cool. If you’re looking for a retro space that oozes 60’s elegance to host your micro wedding, this is the place for you. This is a perfect wedding venue for 20 guests. Choose from multiple ceremony locations: either the deck or perhaps the gorgeous library. The house sits on the Buffalo Bayou and has a private entrance for hiking or kayaking–perfect for some additional activities if you make a few days of it.
This is a giant beachfront home that sleeps 32. This Crystal Beach VRBO is perfect if you’re looking for an Airbnb wedding venue on the beach in Texas or somewhere to host a wedding weekend retreat!
If you’re looking for a micro wedding venue on the beach, here’s a great one. This Galveston beachfront home is just off Bermuda Beach and offers plenty of indoor and outdoor space, unobstructed ocean views, and a chef’s kitchen.
